- Version
- 1.1
- Abstract
- This DOS program reads a version 2 PCD, PCQ, or PCS file and
converts it to the text format recognized by earlier Pfaff design
programs. Any color information is discarded. The Quer column will
always be set to zero. However, stitches wider than 54 millimeters
will be reported.

- Installation

After you download and unzip the program, you can put it
anywhere in the DOS path (since you'll be running it from DOS). On
my system, I have an all-purpose \bin directory that I put random
utilities in, and put that in my path. That way I don't have a
separate path entry for every little doo-dad I download. So that's
where I'd put the PCD utilities. Once the program is in the path,
you can execute it from anywhere (ie. from whatever directories you
keep your designs in).
- Usage
- At the DOS command prompt, enter
PCD2TEXT file.pcd textfile.pcd
where file.pcd is a Pfaff Creative Designer version 2
embroidery design file, and textfile.pcd is the name of the
output text file. Don't use the same file name for both files as this
will destroy the input file. The input file may have the extensions PCD, PCQ,
or PCS. Color information in PCS files will be discarded.
